Founded by entomologist Dr. David Ben-Gershon (Chernoguz) and physician Dr. Nehama Milson Ben-Gershon, and supported by a team of seasoned advisers and consultants (see our team), CalliFarma Therapeutics brings together expertise in experimental entomology, biotechnology, wound care, and pharmaceutical product development.

We specialize in the semi-industrial production and research of medicinal flies (Lucilia spp.) for biotherapy applications — including chronic wound care, medicinal skincare, veterinary, and agriculture (greenhouses pollination). All technologies are developed in-house and continuously tested and refined.

Regulatory Approval

As of May 5, 2025, CalliFarma Therapeutics Ltd has received official registration from the Israeli Ministry of Health for its Medicinal Maggots, approved for the treatment of chronic, hard-to-heal wounds. The product is listed in the Medical Devices Registry (AMAR) under registration no. 38210001.

Lucilia sericata larvae for MDT – conventional larvae (48-hour shelf life) and conditioned larvae with extended shelf life up to 12 days, enabling batch delivery and storage on-site.
